Orioles activate Hill, send Scott to DL
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - The Baltimore Orioles activated left-hander Rich Hill from the disabled list to start Saturday against the Kansas City Royals.

The Orioles also placed outfielder Luke Scott on the 15-day DL with a strained left shoulder.

Hill had been on the disabled list with a strained left elbow. He made four rehab starts, three with Triple-A Norfolk and one with Class A Frederick, going 1-2 and allowing three runs and six hits in 16 1-3 innings, while striking out 15 and walking nine.

Hill was acquired Feb. 2 in a trade with the Cubs, where he won 11 games in 2007 but spent most of last season on the disabled list. He becomes the 12th player to make their Baltimore debut this season, and the seventh different starter for the Orioles in 37 games.

Scott hurt himself diving back to first base on a pickoff attempt Sunday against the New York Yankees. He was hitting .303 with five homers and 15 RBIs, and his move to the DL was retroactive to May 11.
